In 1977 Five Wonderland Travel locations in NSW & Victoria were opened owned by George Vella and Joe Sammut these offices have now being converted to Breakaway Travel offices. Breakaway Travel is now a stand alone company which was formed in 2004 by Joe & George.

Breakaway Travel comprises of three directors Joe Sammut, Steve Vella and Gary White a solicitor with several years of experience in the travel industry.

For some time the directors have noted that amongst the present buying groups there exists a lack of understanding of the needs for small to medium businesses (SME) and that members of these groups are not listened to and do not have a voice.

In view of this the Breakaway Travel group (BTG) has been launched presenting opportunities for both branded and affiliate members.
